β-galactosidaseとsialidase （neuraminidase）の両者の低下を認め．galactosialidosis （II型）と診断された2症例を経験した。症例は36歳と21歳の男性で，眼所見では本症に特徴的である角膜混濁，cherry-red spotに加えて，水晶体混濁が観察された。さらに，このうち1症例では硝子体混濁も認められた。
We observed Type II galactosialidosis in two males aged 21 and 36 years each. Both cases showed decreased levels of β-galactosidase and sialidase (neuraminidase) in the plasma. They showed deep stromal opacity of the cornea, punctate opacity of the lens and cherry-red spot of the macula. Moderate pacity of the vitreous was present in one case.
