網膜色素変性患者のQOL評価の解析

Quality of life in patients of retinitis pigmentosa

　網膜色素変性患者の状態を総合的に把握するための評価票を作成し，調査を行い，QOL （生活・生命・人生の質）の向上の方法について検討した。高度障害者では日常生活や社会的活動に支障を生じ，社会とのつながりを失う傾向にあり，多くのものが憂うつなどの心理状況を有していた。満足度に寄与する項目は，人間関係，趣味の楽しみ，家族の理解，心の支え・生きがい，収入，診断受容，一人歩行などであった。主観的QOLの向上に，周囲の人の理解や，患者自身が趣味の楽しみや心の支え・生きがいを持つこと，家族の理解や患者自身の受容を促進できる医師のサポート，自立性を支えるリハビリテーションケアや環境整備，社会の障害者観の改善などが重要である。

A questionnaire was used to evaluate the overall status of 111 patients of retinitis pigmentosa, RP. We tried to identify potential means to improve the quality of life of RP patients. Besides difficulties in daily life and social activities, patients with severe RP tended to lose social contact. Mental depression was a common feature. Following items were identified as contributing factors to patients' satisfaction: human relationship, gratification from hobby activities, understanding by family members, motivation, aim of life, financial income, acceptance of the diagnosis, and outdoor life without help. The survey showed the importance of solving the above items in addition to support by the medical personnel, rehabilitation to enable independence, improvement in environmental factors and the attitude of the general population regarding visually handicapped persons.
