糖尿病網膜症の10年間の経過

Clinical course of diabetic retinopathy during ten years

　当科での糖尿病網膜症患者の外来受診状況ならびに10年間の長期経過予後を検討した。1984年までの3年間に糖尿病網膜症と診断されたインスリン非依存性糖尿病253例506眼を対象とし，網膜症の経過などをカルテから調査した。初診時福田分類は，O群43眼，A群139眼，B群313眼とB群が多かった。半数は観察期間が2年以内と短く，紹介患者であること，専門外来がなかったことが要因と考えられた。10年間継続して当科を受診したのは23例46眼であった。初診時B群中，10年後にA群へ改善した25眼の全例に光凝固，2眼に硝子体切除が施行されており，両者の有用性が確認された。

We evaluated the clinical course of diabetic retinopathy in 46 eyes of 23 patients followed up for 10 years. The initial state of retinopathy was graded as B in 29 eyes by Fukuda's classification. After 10 years, 25 eyes in this group turned into grade A. All these eyes received photocoagulation and two eyes underwent vitrectomy. The findings show the efficacy of both treatments in early grade B diabetic retinopathy.
