  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We observed a pathological vessel in the left eye of a one-year-old male infant diagnosed as familial exudative vitreoretinopathy, FEVR. A part of inferior temporal retinal vein was floating in the vitreous temporal to the macula. This floating vessel changed its course along with changes in the eye position. An avascular zone was present in the peripheral fundus associated with fibrovascular tissue and retinal exudates. The floating vessel was connected with the fibrovascular tissue. It appeared that posterior vitreous detachment developed secondary to cicatrization of fibrovascular tissue resulting in traction of the retinal vessel adherent to it.
