ブスルファン長期投与後に生じた白内障の1例

A case of cataract following longterm systemic busulfan therapy

　慢性骨髄性白血病のため，4年5か月間，総投与量4,117mgのブスルファンを投与された36歳男性の両眼に生じ，急速に進行した白内障を報告した。同時にこの患者はインターフェロン，ハイドロキシウレア投与および骨髄移植の既往があったが，その際投与された薬物の種類や量と放射線照射を受けていないことなどから，原因薬剤としてブスルファンが最も考えられた。

A 39-year-old male developed bilateral posterior cortical cataract. He had normal visual acuity two years ago. It was now 0.3 right and 0.2 left. He had been diagnosed as chronic myelogenous leukemia 4 years and 5 months before. He had received a total dose of 4,117 mg of busulfan as well as relatively small doses of interferon alpha and hydroxyurea after bone marrow transplantation. There was no history of total body irradiation. Because of these circumstances, we concluded that the cataract was induced by systemic busulfan.
