  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We treated 10 eyes of traumatic corneoscleral lacerations. The lens was already missing when seen by us. The lacerations involved the cornea in 2, the sclera in 6 and both in 2. Retinal detachment developed in 5 eyes, manifesting giant retinal tear in 3 eyes and massive suprachoroidal hemorrhage in 1. Vitrectomy for 40 of the 5 eyes, performed after an average of 18 days, failed to achieve functional success. In the remaining 5 eyes without retinal detachment, 4 eyes were treated by vitrectomy after an average of 36 days after injury. Functional success was achieved in all.
