  • Look Inside

A female infant showed bilateral hypermetropia of +4.0D under cycloplegics at one year of age. The axial length was 20mm each. When examined again at 4 years of age, cycloplegic refraction showed +1.0D in the right eye and +6.25D in the left. The axial length was 22.40mm in the right eye and 20.94mm in the left. Corrected visual acuity was 25/20 right and 20/30 left. Eye position and movement were normal. The left visual acuity improved to 20/20 after 3 months of wearing spectacles and occlusion of the right eye. Her mother showed anisometropic amblyopia in her left eye with essentially similar refractive state as the child.
