　ぶどう膜炎の併発白内障45例57眼に対して眼内レンズ挿入術を行い，67％で0.5以上の視力が得られた。フィブリンが33％に出現し，16％でぶどう膜炎が再燃した。術後の虹彩炎は平均3.8か月後まで続いた。ぶどう膜炎の既往があった症例に眼内レンズを挿入する場合は，炎症が6か月以上治まっていることが必要であると思われる。現在活動性である場合は眼内レンズ挿入手術は禁忌と考えるほうがよい。

We performed extracapsular cataract extraction or phacoemulsification with posterior chamber lens implantation in 57 eyes with complicated cataract due to various types of uveitis. Visual acuity improved to 20/40 or better in 38 eyes, 67%. Postoperatively, fibrinous exudate in the anterior chamber developed in 19 eyes, 33%. Uveitis recurred in 9 eyes, 16%. Signs of iritis persisted for an average of 3.8 months after surgery. While intraocular lens implantation is contraindicated for eyes with active inflamma-tion, it appeared to be tolerated in eyes with sufficient control of uveitis during the preceding 6 months or more.
