前房の螢光濃度測定による正常者角膜透過性の加齢変化

Age-related changes in corneal permeability

　若年と壮年者の正常者45例90眼について，点眼法によるフルオレセイン透過濃度を測定した。角膜内濃度と前房内濃度は加齢によって同程度に上昇した。これは角膜上皮と内皮の機能的な加齢変化が同等に進むことを示すものと思われた。10歳代でも透過濃度に加齢現象がみられ，角膜上皮と内皮の加齢変化が10歳代に始まっていることを考えさせた。角膜知覚と基礎涙液量は年代間の差を認めないという結果を得，角膜知覚ならびに基礎涙液量は，角膜の薬剤透過性に対して，今回の条件下では関与していないものと思われた。

We quantitated the corneal permeability after topical instillation of fluorescein in 90 eyes of 45 healthy volunteers. Their ages ranged from 8 to 72 years. Concentrations of fluorescein in the cornea and the anterior chamber increased along with advance of age. Rate of increase in the cornea andin the anterior chamber ran parallel, suggesting that age-related changes in the corneal epithelium parallels those in the endothelium. The age-related increase of penetration was also manifest in the age group from 8 to 19 years. No age-related changes were observed regarding corneal sensitivity and basic tear secretion.
