  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We observed 2 females, aged 21 and 22 years each, with presumed herpetic limbal vasculitis. Both cases were characterized by localized ciliary injection, corneal stromal edema in areas adjacent to the injection, and unilateral involvement. One patient had developed dendritic keratitis 1 monthbefore. Herpes simplex virus type 1 was identified from the sample obtained by debridement. In the other patient, there was a history of necrotizing keratitis and loss of corneal sensation. The corneal lesion healed by topical trifluorothimidine and antibiotics in one case and by topical acyclovir and antibiotics in the other.
