Abstract Purpose:We performed cataract surgery with a technique called Mixed EDoF to insert a bifocal IOL or depth of focus extended IOL(EDoF:Extended Depth of Field)for good naked vision and compared it to the trifocal IOL.

Subjects and Method:The subjects were 20 patients in 10 cases of Mixed EDoF group from 55 to 76 years of age, 20 in the FINE VISION group, and 10 in the PanOptix group. The Mixed EDoF group was adjusted to see the distance, middle, and near by both eyes by inserting ZMB00(AMO)on one side and the ZXR00 TECNIS Symfony® on the other. Intrastromal incision or toric IOL was used for astigmatic eyes. Visual acuity and refractive power before and after surgery were measured. The degree of satisfaction was investigated. We compared and examined trifocal IOL.

Result:In all cases, the binocular vision was logMAR 0 or higher, logMAR 0.155 or higher at the middle 70 cm, and near 30 cm was logMAR 0.1 or higher. Even if IOL different from both eyes was inserted, the expression degree of satisfaction had each high good special quality.

Conclusion:Mixed EDoF is considered useful to select multiple-focus IOLs because they are both visible and uncomfortable with both eyes and are satisfied and are satisfied with each other.
