Abstract Purpose:To report a case of malignant melanoma of the choroid with favorable outcome following CyberKnife radiotherapy.

Case:A 73-year-old female was referred to us for malignant melanoma metastatic to the liver. Corrected visual acuity was 1.0 right and 1.2 left. The right eye showed a tumor temporal superior to the disc. Diagnostic imaging led to the diagnosis of malignant melanoma of the choroid. Choroidal and hepatic tumor progressed after chemotherapy with nivolumab during the following 16 months with right visual acuity worsening to 0.1. The right eye was then treated by photocoagulation followed by CyberKnife radiotherapy totaling 28 Gy. Visual acuity improved to 0.8 with tumor. Height decreasing from the initial 5.1 mm to 3.1 mm 14 months after radiation. The patient has been doing well for 33 months after her initial visit.

Conclusion:This case illustrates that CyberKnife radiotherapy may be effective for primary malignant melanoma of the choroid. Chemotherapy with nivolumab appears to have been effective for preservation of life by controlling liver metastasis.
