水晶体摘出後の嚢腫状黄斑部浮腫発生に対するProstaglandinsの関与性（Ⅲ）

緒　言

　水晶体摘出術後の嚢腫状黄斑浮腫（以下CME）の成因は不明である。本疾患は本邦人のごとき有色人種には少ないとする誤つた見解があつたが最近著者等のprospcctiveな検討^3）で明らかなように，本邦人でも欧米と同様の発生様態を呈すること，また最近一般化しつつある人工水晶体挿入後の合併症としても，注目をあつめており，その成因を明らかにし，治療法を確立することが臨床上重要な問題となつてきた。

　従来，低眼圧説^4），硝子体索引説^5），炎症説^6）などが提案されてきたが，いずれも不完全である。最近では炎症説が比較的多数の研究者の支持を得ているが，眼球前部に与えられた手術的刺激により，なぜ眼球後極部に病変が発生するのか，手術的刺激とCME発生との時差をどのように説明するのか等の問題点が存在する^7）。

The author has postulated a hypothesis that development of the cystoid macular edema (CME) is relevant with biosynthesis of prostaglandins (PGs) in the eye which occurs after the lens extraction, and that the incidence of the post-operative CME is very much reduced by topical application of indomethacin (IM) (v. Graefes Arch. Ophthalmol. 203: 81-88, 1977, Jpn. J. Ophthalmol. 22: in press, 1978). The purpose of the present investigation was to assess the precise period of application of IM.
