We evaluated the therapeutic effects in 99 rases of Sjögren's syndrome associated with rheumatoid arthritis. The ages of the patients averaged 49.6 years. Females outnumbered males by 96 vs. 3 cases. All the cases initially received artificial tears, FAD and/or chondroitin sulfate eyedrops. Thereaf-ter, one group of patients (49 cases) were additionally treated by peroral prednisolone at the initial dosis of 30mg/day which was tapered to the maintenance dosis of 5-10mg/day. The other group (50 cases) was treated by bromhexine 48mg/day for 6 months.
