眼内フィラリア迷入の1症例

A case of intraocular filariasis

　奄美大島出身で69歳の男性の右眼前房内に寄生虫を認め，手術的に摘出除去した。虫体は，すでに死亡しており，死後長期間を経ているため，外表層のクチクラ（Cuti—cula）のみを残して，内臓はすべて消失していた。しかし，クチクラの形態，患者の出身地，生活歴より，フィラリア（おそらくWuchereria bancrofti）と診断した。術前，術後共眼内に炎症症状は認められず，全身状態にも異常はなかった。

The presence of a dead thread-like worm was detected in the anterior chamber in the right eye of a 69-year-old male. The worm was hanging from 1 o'clock position at the pupillary margin with the free tail coiling. The anterior chamber was free of inflammatory findings.

It was removed surgically by inserting a No. 18 gauge aspirating needle through the limbus at 1 o'clock and by placing a No. 23 gauge irrigation needle at the 8 o'clock limbus. The worm was suc-cessfully sucked out through the aspirating needle.The worm was 3.8 mm in length and 58 pm in maximum width.
