  • Look Inside

We examined 66 cases with homonymous hem-ianopsia by means of computed tomography and detected the presence of occipital lobe lesion in 22 cases (33%). One-third of the 22 cases were malesin their fifties with cardiovascular involvement. Prodromal symptoms of ischemic nature was com-mon before onset of the disease. Psychiatric signs or Anton's symptoms, which are closely related to the extent of the lesion over temporal or parietal lobe, did not appear in cases with occipital lobe lesion only. Cerebral infarction was the commonest cause and occurred in two-thirds of the cases.
