格子状変性の遺伝機構に関する研究（予報）

A preliminary study on the inheritance of lattice degeneration of the retina

　格子状変性の遺伝に関する系統的な研究を行なつているが，今回は予報的な結果として，格子状変性には家族集積性の現象が著しいことを報告した。その遺伝機構として，現在までにえられた資料からは，浸透率の不完全な常染色体性優性遺伝もしくは多因子遺伝の二つの可能性が残る。そのうちのどちらかであるかは，さらに資料を集めて結論をえたい。

A study was made on the incidence of lattice degeneration of the retina in two different sam-ples. One sample consisted of 2, 393 subjects of about equal number of sexes. Their ages ranged between 2 and 91 years. Lattice degeneration was present in 4.6% of the group. The incidence of the condition was roughly stable throughout the ages except a trend for decrease in senile subjects. It was significantly more frequent in males than in females throughout the ages.

The other sample consisted of 77 first-degree relatives of 45 subjects affected with lattice degeneration.
