Research on the integrating function of accommodation and pupillary reflexes:As a mechanism regulating intraocular Pressure

緒言

　瞳孔−調節系は，視機能の一要素として，単に視覚系にのみ関与するのではなく，全身異常における重大なneurological signとして，また，視機能運営の調整機構として重要な役割を果すと考えられる。前者については，前報^1）にて，二，三の疾患における調節，瞳孔反応の統合的機能の眼異常の診断的意義について報告した。本報告では，後者について検討を試みた。瞳孔の眼圧調整に対する意義あるいは緑内障発症との関連については，日常の臨床経験の上から十分考えられるところであり，調節機能については，鈴村^2）は，調節機能が眼圧調整機構として重要であることを述べ，瞳孔運動もこれに関与することを報告している。

　これらの点から，瞳孔−調節の統合的機能が眼圧調整機構として，積極的に参画するか否か，およびその価値について明らかにし瞳孔−調節の統合的機能としての視機能運営への意義の一端を明らかにしたい。

The pupillary accommodation system acts not only as a regulatory mechanism for sight but also plays a key role for the maintenance of normal ocular functioning as well. Its possible effects on intraocular pressure function in this manner were discussed. To evaluate this function, the present study involved investigation of the variation in intraocular pressure under pupillary accommodation in cases of hypertensive eyes, glaucoma and normal subjects.
