眼感染症患者より分離したStaphylococcus epidermidisの薬剤感受性

Studies on sensitivity of staphylococcus epidermidis to various antibiotics

緒　言

　近年，化学療法の発達ならびに宿主側要因の変化にともない，いわゆるOpportunistic pathogensによる感染症が注目されている。Staphylococcusepidermidis （以下，Staph．　epidermidis）はその一つであり，本菌による感染症の増加は本邦のみならず広く欧米において重視されているところである^1）。

　眼感染症においては，術後感染や眼内炎の報告がみられている^2）。

Sensitivity test was performed for 93 strains of Staphylococcus epidermidis isolated from ocular infections, including blepharitis, hordeolum, lid abscess, conjunctivitis, dacryocystitis, corneal in-filtration, corneal ulcer, endophthalmitis and or-bitalphlegmone in 1977. Antibiotics used for the sensitivity studies included : ABPC, MCIPC, CER, SM, KM, GM, AMK, EM, CP and TC.

The results obtained were as follows.

(1) All of 93 strains were coagulase negative and 89 of them (95.7%) were mannitol nega-tive.
