Usher症候群についての眼科的研究

Ophthalmoligical studies on the usher syndrome

緒　言

　Usher症候群とは，先天聾に網膜色素変性症が合併した場合に呼ばれる遺伝性の疾患である，この症候群には精神病，知能発育遅延やその他平衡障害などの神経学的異常を伴うことも報告されている^1〜3）。

　著者らは，過去3年間厚生省特定疾患網膜色素変性症研究班の事業の一つとしてUsher症候群の眼科学的研究をとりあげ^4〜6），第一次眼同科検診および第二次精密眼科検診を行なうとともに，家系調査を行なつた。

We conducted ophthalmological examinations in 2,132 deal-school children in seven prefectures in western ,Japan. The studies included visual acuity testing, refraction, funduscopy, fundus photography, quantitative perimet y and elect roretinography.

We detected 37 cases (1.7%) of primary pigmen-tary degeneration of the retina out of the 2,132 children with the incidence of the Ushers yndrome is estimated to be 0.6 person per 100,000 people in normal population.
