白内障術後嚢胞状黄斑部浮腫の実態（第1報）

緒　言

　白内障手術後の嚢胞状黄斑部浮腫（以下C．M．E．と略記）については，Irbine，Gass　＆　Nortonが報告して以来，欧米において多くの報告が，みられるが，その発生因子について，いろいろな説が，発表されていて定説がないのが現在の状態である。また本邦においても，吉岡以来数人の報告をみるが，いまだその実態についての概念が確立されたといえない状況である。

　著者らは，最近，日本人における本症の実態を知るために，主に老人性白内障患者を対象とするProspective studyを試みた。まず白内障手術の種類によるC．M．E．発生の差異を検討するため，冷凍嚢内摘出術，計画的嚢外摘出術，KelmanのPhacoemulsificationによる嚢外摘出術を行ない，各群につき，年齢別に，術後経過を系統的に観察し，また4週から6週の間に，螢光眼底写真撮影（以下F．F．A．）を行ない，検討を加えた。

A prospective study to clarify the natural history of cystoid macular edema after cataract extraction in japanese people has been undertaken. One hund-red and twenty-two eyes in 75 patients, 23 maleand 52 female, underwent uneventful cataract extraction and postoperative natural courses were followed with slit-lamp examination and fluorescein angiography. The age of the subjects ranged from 41 to 88 years. Of the 122 eyes operated on, 89 eyes received intracapsular lens extraction, 17 eyes plan-ned extracapsular extraction, and 16 eyes Kelman's phacoemulsification.
