眼科用高性能超音波診断装置とコンピューター断層装置の眼科領域における検査意義の比較について

Comparison of Ultrasonography and Computerized Tomography in Ophthalmology

緒　言

　近年電子計算機の利用技術の発展により，コンピューター断層装置Computerized Tomogra-phy（CTと略す）が出現し，眼科領域においても超音波検査法との比較が報告されている^1〜4）。しかし最近開発された^5），高感度高分解能を有する眼科用高性能超音波診断装置Aloka SSD−65（UTと略す）との比較はまだ発表されておらず，それぞれの検査法の眼科領域における意義について興味ある知見を得たので報告する。

We examined 12 cases with exophthalmus and 3 cases with intraocular tumor by means of ultrasonography and computerized tomography (EMI or ACTA), with a view to assess the clinical significances of these two methods. Our experiences indicate that a combined use of ultrasonography and computerized tomogra-phy is advocated for intraorbital space-oc-cupying lesions in general, whereas ultrsono-graphy alone furnishes reliable data in cases of intraocular tumors. The examination with computerized tomography is imperative when-ever intracranial lesion is suspected, as when the condition is associated with visual field disturbance.
