眼部異物の診断における超音波診断の役割

The Role of Ultrasound in the Management of Ocular Foreign Bodies

緒　言

　眼部異物に対する診断には超音波による検査がX線診断とともに用いられている^1〜3）。その目的とするところは，1）異物の探知，特にX線透明の場合，2）異物の位置判定（定位），特に二重穿孔の有無の判定，3）合併障害の有無とその程度判定，および4）手術方法の選択である。このような目的が十分果たされるためには適当な診断装置と系統づけられた診断方法が必要である。今回私共はIowa大学において多数の眼部異物症例，特に眼球内のものについての成績を検討した結果，超音波診断法が本症の診断・管理にすぐれていることを明白にしえたので，診断方法ならびに結果を報告する。

Ultrasound can be used secondary to x-rayexamination to detect and localize ocular fore-ign bodies. Its purposes are 1) detection of foreign bodies, especially of x-ray negative ones, 2) localization in relation to the ocular wall for double perforation, 3) assessment of associated damage, and 4) guidance of extra-ction. Forty-seven cases with ocular foreign bodies were examined ultrasonographically in the Department of Ophthalmology of the Uni-versity of Iowa Hospitals for five years since 1971. The equipments used were Kretztechnik 7200 MA for A-scan echography and Bronson-Turner Ophthalmic B-scan for B-scan echogra-phy.
