  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The authors report two rare cases of retrobulbar optic neuritis ; in these cases, at first, steroid hormone, anterior pituitary hormone and Vitamine B group were not at all ef-fective. After craniotomy and resection of adhesive arachnoidea, treatment with anterior pituitary hormone and Vitamine B group was again practised, which lead to sufficient recovery of visual acuity after one and four years in each case, while the operation itself seemed to be uneffective for a while. The authors supposed, that the operation bettered the pathological condition of optic nerve, which was made ready to receive pharmocological effect.
