矩形二重焦点コンタクトレンズの研究

Rectangular bifocal contact lens

緒言

　1959年の国際コンタクトレンズ学会を撰機に，いろいろなデザインのバイフォーカルコンタクトレンズが発表された。この事はすでに水谷氏^1），曲谷氏^2）より詳しく報告されて居る。

　今Feinbloomによつて始めて作られた角鞏膜バイフォーカルコンタクトレンズを一応除外して考えてみると，角膜バイフォーカルのタイプには大別すると，2つの流れのある事がわかる。その1つは『レンズの回転を止める』というアイデアから出発したと思われるもの，即ちKoch^3），Ultracon type^3）によつて代表されるUltex型グループ。又他のものは『レンズの回転をそのまま肯定して出発した同心円形のコンタクトレンズ』即ちWesley^4），Jessen^4）5）及びDeCarleの^6）7），typeによつて代表されるグループである（第1図参照）。

The author has succeeded in modeling a fixed rectangular bifacal contoct lens, which obtained good results in clinical applications.

The features of the new contactlens are as listed below:

1) Rectangular shaped, maintains fixed position always.

2) The lens is devided by a center horizontal line : the upper portion for the distant use and the lower for reading.

3) The centers of two lenses are overlapped so that double images and discontinuation of vision do not occur. In addition, patients can see the objects always through the optical center.

4) Ease of prescription and cmfortable to patient for full day's use.
