Contact Lenses

　水谷（名古屋）：今回のグループディスカッションは，従来のように各自が得意の演題をもちよるのではなくて，『近視の進行とコンタクトレンズ』という一つのテーマについて，自由な討議をすることになつております。現在近視の成因についても論争が行われていますが，本日のテーマから，別の方面からの成因の解決もまんざら夢ではないと推察されますので，これから数時間の間，自由活発な討論をお願いしたいと思います。

　曲谷（順大）：以前に水谷先生と相談し賛同を得ましたが，従来のグループディスカッションと異なるバネルなしの自由なディスカッションにより，気軽に討論したいと思います。

The symposium on contact lenses was held on Nov. 12, 1966, concurrently with the 20th Annual Congress of Clinical Ophthalmology in Tokyo.

Under the chairmanship of Dr. Y. Mizutani, Nippon Contact Lens Research Institute, the problems on the progression of myopia and contact lenses were discussed in a round table fashion.

While some of attendants had the opposing opinion about the reduction of myopia, most of them reported that the clinical experience showed corneal contact lenses would be able to control the progression of myopia with pro-per fitting.
