緒言
網膜色素変性症には近視が多いといわれている。
何故に近視が多発するかということを検討するのは本症の本態を知る上にも近視の原因論を研究する上にも大きな意義のある研究である。
The refraction of 501 eyes of retinitis pigmentosa were studied statistically. The mate-rial was taken from the hospital records as well as reports in the literature. The follo-wing result was obtained : Myopia in 280 eyes (56%), Emmetropia in 171 eyes (34%) and Hypermetropia in 50 eyes (10%). Thus, myopia is much more frequent among retinits pigmentosa than the ordinary population. The possible implication of this finding was discussed in detail.
