「やまかがし」による眼障害

Disturbance of the eye by snake venoms (Natrix tigrina (Boie))

緒言

　所謂無毒蛇とされている「やまかがし」の頸腺液の眼内飛入による眼障害例を経験したが，かかる障害の報告は本邦では12例にすぎず稀なものと思われるので報告しようと思う。

1. The case was a farmer 36 year of age, who wanted to eat a Natrix tigrina (Boie). When he made a cut on the snake's neck, his right eye received a drop of secreting fluid (salivary). Clinical pictures were disturbance of vision, anesthesia and cloudiness of the cornea and miosis etc.

2. Local application of cortisone was very effective to cure the disease.

3. The auther has compared my case with other 12 cases which were reported in Japan.
