Studies on beta irradition of vernal conjunctivitis

I．緒言

　春季カタルの治療法については，従来よりアドレナリン，コカインの点眼，遮光眼鏡装用，其他種々の方法が試みられた。然しこれらは自覚症状を僅かに軽減させる程度であることは，周知の通りである。

　現在最も一般に用いられている副腎皮質系ホルモンは，従来の治療法に比較して自覚症状，分泌物の減少に対し，著しい効果がある。又他覚的にも，眼球型にはよく奏効するが，眼瞼型の乳頭増殖には，極めて不充分な効果しかなく，又点眼を中止すると，再発するのが常である。

The authors had treated by beta irradiation 44 eyes of severe vernal conjunctivitis (27 of palpebral type, 13 of mixed type and 4 of bulbous type) during three and a half years.

For relieving the palpebral type, the period of the irradition is about two and half months, and the amount of it is estimated at 10,000—15,000 rep an irradiation field. The suitable number of irradiation times is two or three with an interval of two weeks.
