  • Look Inside

A boy, aged 15, lost his right vision by a mild strike on the forehead against the jaw of a man walking on the street. In a few days vision recovered to 0.05, and perimetric field showed concentric contraction of the upper half and defect of the lower half. Roent-genogram of the optic canal revealed no distinct signs of fracture.

Transcranial operation was performed on 16 th day following the accident. Fracture of the upper wall of right optic canal was then detected, and optic nerve was decompressed by the removal of bony fragment.

Vision recovered immediately following the operation.
