In the present study, antibacterial activity of Dextromycin was investigated. Dextromycin is a new antibiotics, which was discovered by K. Ogata in 1949.

The results obtained were as follows :

1. The antibacterial activity of Dextromycin was the most satisfactory when this drug was dissolved in a alkaline solvent.

2. As far as the antibacterial activity is concerned, there was no difference between 0.5% and 1 % Dextromycin.

3. 0.5% Dextromycin solution showed antibacterial activity against Bac. subtilis, Sta-phylococcus albus, Morax-Axenfeld diplobacillus and Kochweeks bacillus.
