プレドニンの眼科的使用成績

Clinical use of prednisolone (predonine) in ophthalmology

緒言

　コーチゾン，ハイドロコーチゾン等副腎皮質ホルモンの臨床的応用は，薬物療法に一新紀元を劃したが，その輝かしい成果にかかわらず，これらのコルチコイドは友面種々の副作用を有しており，全身投与の際特に長期にわたつて使用する場合には，往々その副作用のため投薬継続を断念せねばならぬような事態がおこつてくる。したがつてこれらのホルモンの治病作用の本質たる抗炎症性を増強しながら，極力その副作用を軽減しようとする研究が盛んに行われるようになり，その結果生れたのがプレドニゾンPrednisone，プレドニゾロンPrednisoloneである。

　かねて私共は塩野義製薬より，プレドニゾロン製剤プレドニンPredonineの内服錠の提供を受け，今回新に眼科用軟膏及び注射用懸濁液試用の機会を与えられたので，ここに各種眼疾患にプレドニンを使用した成績をまとめて報告する。

A new synthetic adrenocortical hormone, Prednisolone (Predonine), was given to the cases with various eye diseases internally (a tablet containing 5 mg Prednisolone) and lo-cally (eye wash with 0.125 and 0.25% solution, application of 0.25% ointment, subconjunc-tival injection of 0.2cc of suspension containing 2.5% Prednisolone. A remarkable antiphlo-gistic effect superior to Cortisone was observed. The subconjunctival injection gave satis-fying results in serious cases which could not be recovered by the eye wash or ointment.

No by-effect as the case of Cortisone was noticed even in continious local or general use of it.
