緒言

　著者は，第Ⅱ報にて甲状腺機能亢進症患者のOrbitonometryに関する研究を発表し，第Ⅲ報にて此等の患者に対する放射性ヨードI¹³¹の治療効果に就いて検討を試みた。今回は臨床的に"Thyrotropic exophthalmos"と考えられる症例に就いてOrbitonometryを施行し，得られた成績と，前報に述べた成績とを比較し，Orbitono-metryの面から，内分泌性眼球突出の一元説，二元説に対し些か批判を加えてみることとした。

Two types of exophthalmos propsed by Mulvany, thyrotoxic and thyrotropic type, may be discriminated by clinical symptom, various examinations, and orbitonometry if they have extreme aspects. But there are many transitional types such as Mann's 3 types between both extremes.

In orbitonometry various mixed types of both types are much found, and the fact may supports the monistic theory by Rundle and Pochin. In other words the results of Orbito-nometry are insufficient to discriminate the two types of exophthlmos proposed by Mulvany.
