Clinical Studies on Orbitonometry:The 5th report. on the cases of orbital tumor

緒言

　我々は眼球突出の患者に遭遇した場合，それが内分泌性疾患に起因するものか炎症性のものか，或は真性の腫瘍なのか診断に困難な場合が多い。眼窩腫瘍と診断した場合に於て悪性のものか良性のものか，限局性か瀰漫性か臨床所見のみでは判断に苦しむ。眼球突出，眼球運動障碍，視力減退等の症状は眼窩容積を占める病巣によつて起るもので，此等臨床所見のみでは，眼球突出の原因をつきとめることは難しい。かかる場合に，患者の年令，既往歴，発病の状態，進行状況，全身状態，副鼻腔，頭蓋内疾患の有無，X線検査等詳しく調べることは必要であるが，眼窩という特殊な解剖学的条件より疾患の性質を伺う事は困難である。かかる場合にはあらゆる補助診断方法を活用することが必要である。著者はさきに眼窩腫瘍の補助診断としてP₃₂の応用に就て発表したが，今回はOrbitonometoryの補助診断としての価値に就て検討を試みることとした。

The author performed orbitonometry on 8 cases of orbital tumor and examined the changes in the region in surgery and in orbital tension following the treatment.

The results are as follows :

It was made clear that the changes in orbital tension have great relations not only to the degree of rigidity and the localisation of tumor but to the extent of the focus, and that the inflamatory changes returned to the normal condition as a result of chemotherapy.
