視束乳頭面に於て被包された鉄片の抽出

Extraction of a magnetic foreign body encapsulated on the surface of the optic disc.

緒言

　眼内異物殊に磁性異物に対しては磁石による抽出が古くから行われているが陳旧性の物殊に結合織により被包されたものの抽出は必ずしも容易でない。私共は最近興味ある抽出例を経験したので報告する。

A man, aged 30 years, was found to have a magnetic foreign body on the optic disc covered by white connective tissue. The foreign body could not be extracted by merely introducing a hand magnet into the eye. A specific concave contact lens and a specific head lamp were used to visualize the fundus during the operation. Thus the foreign body was liberated from the optic disc under the ophthalmoscopic control and easily extracted with a hand magnet.

The authors stress the usefulness of the contact lens and the head lamp in fundus operations.
