Clinical Use of Endojodin in Ocular Disease

Ⅰ．緒言

　沃度剤は新陳代謝賦活剤として広く用いられて居り，殊に眼科領域に於て沃度カリの内服は化学療法等の発達した今日に於ても眼底疾患に対して愛用されて居る。

　元来沃度は網膜との親和性が強く，その新陳代謝や抵抗力を増すと言われて居るが，浅山，坂上上野等はI¹³¹による実験成績に於ても，網膜脈絡膜殊に前者は視神経とは比較にならぬ程高濃度に沃度を摂取して居り，此の事実からしても網膜脈絡膜疾患に沃度剤を使用する事は合理的である。しかしながら沃度カリが内服薬である為胃腸障碍を来し易く，故に長期且つ大量投与も意の通りにならない事が屡々ある。

14 cases of ocular diseases including 6 various types of Uveitis, 5 retinochorioiditis centralis and 3 other diseases were treated with Endojodin, a preparation of organic iodine.

The drug was given intracutaneously, in ordinary close of 1 to 2 cc twice a day.

In 11 cases definite improvement and cure were observed. Especially in acute stage of diseases, the combined use of Endojodin with Cortisone was more effective than single use of it.

There was no serious side effect after prolonged use with the exception of a case of hypopyon uveitis in which clinical symptom grew worse by the subconjunctival adomini-stration of the drug.
