We report a case of tenosynovitis of the flexor hallucis longus tendons in a classical ballet dancer who subsequently underwent the surgical release of both flexor hallucis longus tendons. Trigger finger is common, but trigger hallux is rare. The patient was a 12-year-old female amateur classical ballet dancer who had started dancing at the age of 6 years. She complained of the triggering of both halluces and a pain in the posteromedial aspect of the right ankle. A physical examination revealed that the triggering of the halluces occurred at the ankle plantar flexion position. We surgically released the flexor hallucis longus tendons. A fusiform thickening of the tendons at the distal part of the sheath was observed. She returned to dancing after 4 weeks without experiencing any pain or triggering of the halluces.
