トラコーマ伝染予防から見た共同浴場—有明海沿岸福岡県山門郡大和村の場合

Public Bath in View of Prevention for Trachoma

　福岡県の有明海沿岸特に筑後川，矢部川下流地方にはトラコーマが多くて，昭和24年頃私共当時の久留米医科大学眼科学教室員の調査したものにては小学校児童では福岡県山門郡大和村中島小学校児童にて82.0％大和小学校にて69.9％，六合小学校にて66.0％，三橋村二ツ河小学校にては65.3％，浜田小学校にては52.6％を占めており，一方住民に就ては全大和村にて82.0％，小学校区分としては，大和校区住民93.9％，中島校区87.6％の如く可なり高率である。ある地区にては96.0％もあつた地区があつた。（之等の詳細に就ては夫々別に報告の予定である。）

　之等の調査は当時の進駐軍福岡民事部の勧告に関連して私共久留米医大関係者が調査並びに治療，予防対策樹立を依頼されて之を行つたものである。

Trachoma is prevalent over the Coast of Ariake-Bay and downstream of Chikugo-and Yabe-river. Above all, in Yamato-village, Yamatogun, Fukuoka Pref. 82% of pupils of Nakajima primary school and 69,9% of pupils of Yamato primary school are infected with trachoma, and the residents of the village showed still higher ratio of infection-namely the residents in Nakajima district showed 87,6% of ratio of infection and those in Yamato district showed very high ratio of 93,9%. Yamato district is very dirty place owing to poverty of water.
