アクロマイシンによるトラコーマの集団治療について

Mass treatment of trachoma by Achromycin

　トラコーマの治療に対するアクロマイシンの意義については，既に多数の内外研究者によつて論ぜられている。その効果はAgarval （1955）が，三井氏及び筒井氏の成績にくらべて氏のはそれ程の好結果を得られなかつたと述べている様に，報告者によつて多少の差はあるが，大よそAureo-mycin或はTerramycinのそれと同等か時にそれ以上のものと考えられている。

　ここに述べる集団治療は，比較的多数例について試みたものであるが，その成績は文献諸例のそれと大差を認めなかつた。しかしその治癒判定については，臨床的診断の基準の確定していない今日，なお検討を要する点が少なくない。本文ではこれが解決法の1つとしてカラースライドによる批判を試みた。

We gave mass treatment of 1% Achromycin ointment to 1042 trachoma patients of pupils of primary and middle school and children of nursery in two districts of fishery and agriculture.

We continued local application of ointment 2 or 3 times daily for from 44 to 58 days.

The results of therapy : One of the main subject of this study is to discuss the influence of this ointment upon trachoma using color slide. So the judgement of effect of the medicine is done by comparison of symptoms before and after the treatment.

The most prominent change in clinic by the treatment is the disappear of diffusive opacity of conjunctival tissues.
