Yamato Village, Yamato District, Fukuoka Prefecture, on the coast of Ariake Bay. It is very insanitary and most of inhabitants suffer from trachoma. The author examined general inhabitants in three areas, i. e. Nakajima area, engaging mainly in fishing, Kobiraki area, in farming or combining in fishing and farming, and Sarakaki area, mainly in farming. And got the following results,

1) by areas.

Nakajima area, 213 sufferers in 222 examinees, (95.5%).

Kobiraki area, 75 sufferers in 145 examinees, (51.7%).

Saraki area, 55 sufferers in 65 examinees, (84.6%).

2) by occupations.

In fishing, 82.3%

In fishing and farming, 80.2%
