Effect of 5-oxyanthranilic Acid on Single Glaucoma

緒言

　慢性単性緑内障の原因は，本質的には未だ不明という外はないが，現在までに唱えられた諸説を大別すれば，

1）器械的流通障碍説。2)神経血管障碍説。3)眼圧中枢障碍説等が主なるものであろう。

It was considered in the author's previous paper that the therapeutic effect of anthranilic acid on simple glaucoma should only be that of 5-oxyanthranilic acid, which is converted from anthranilic acid in vivo.

In this paper, the therapeutic effect of 5-oxyanthranilic acid itself was investigated by oral administration of a modicum (1.0 mg daily, corresponding to 1/10 dosis of anthranilic acid) of this acid to 4 simple glaucoma patients with the following results :

1) Tendency to lowering of the elevated ocular tension,

2) Normalization of the increased phasic variation in ocular tension,
