強度近視の矯正視力について

Corrected Visual Acuity in High Myopia

緒言

　強度近視には網膜剥離，硝子体混濁，脈絡膜出血，黄斑部変性および緑内障など種々の合併症が認められるが，特にこのような合併症が存在しないと思われても矯正視力の不良な症例がみられる。屈折度と視力との関係については従来より多数の報告がみられるが，強度近視眼は少数例でこれを除いて統計をとつているものが多い^1）。そこで今回は，強度近視に重点をおき，その裸眼視力および矯正視力を統計的に観察し，合併症のない強度近視で矯正視力が不良な点に関して考察を加えた。また，7年間の推移を観察中強度近視に進展してきた症例の視力，屈折度および眼軸長の経過についても報告する。

1) The corrected visual acuity in 900 high myopic eyes (over -6.25 dptr.) was studied. The higher the myopia, the worse the visual acuity tended to be linearly, from -7.0 to -19.0 diopters. The sudden diminution in the corrected visual acuity was observed in a group between 31 and 40 years of age.

2) There was no significant correlation bet-ween the visual acuity and the axial length in 33 high myopic eyes from 8 to 38 years of age. However, the corrected visual acuity in high myopia having the axial length over 30mm seemed to be bad.
