Acute and Subacute Toxicities of Lysozyme and Ophthalmic Solution Containing Lysozyme

緒言

　Lysozyme含有点眼薬が粘膜刺激性を示さず，安全性の高いものであることはすでに鈴木^1），あるいは早川ら^2）の報告があるが，我々はこの安全性をさらに確認するため，Lysozyme溶液およびLysozyme含有点眼薬をウサギに1日3回，30日間連続点眼し，その局所刺激性を検べるとともに，Lysozyme抗体産生の有無を眼房水と血清について測定し，アナフィラキレー発現準備状態が形成されているか否かについて検討を加えた。また，マウスに大量投与した際の急性毒性についても検索を行ない，Lysozyme溶液ならびにLysozyme含有点眼薬いずれも何ら刺激性も抗体産生も急性毒性も示さないこととを認めたので，その結果について報告する。

In order to assess the possible subacute toxi-cities of topically applied lysozyme as aqueous solutionor ophthalmic solution containing lyso-zyme as its component, following experiments have been conducted in rabbits. The prepara-tions to be tested were : lysozyme solution (1.0, 2.0 and 4.0%), two ophthalmic solutions con-taining lysozyme (E-334-012 and E-334-013) and without lysozyme (E-334-014 and E-334-015). Each solution was instilled in the of 0.3 eye three times a day, at the daily dosis ml, for one month.
