Ⅰ．緒言
耳鼻咽喉科領域に於ても最近酵素療法が非常に進歩し各種酵素剤が作り出されている。細菌を溶解する酵素として知られるLysozymeは古く1909年発見，1922年A. Flemmingにより卵白中より分離されて以来イタリアを中心に其の臨床医学への応用が検討されて来た。他方1930年Z. V. Ermolieva等により吾科領域疾患に対してLysozymeの応用が導入され好結果を得ているようである。
私達もかかる報告に興味をおぼえ，今回Lysozymeを製品化したNeuzymを主として咽喉頭疾患に応用した所，予期以上の成績を得たので其の概要をここに発表する次第である。
Neuzym was used on 21 patients who were found to be affected with chronic laryngitis. The agent seemed to be effective in 14 cases (66.6%); in 10 cases (47.6%) definitely effective and in 4 cases (19%) fairly so.
Used concomitantly with penicillin against 8 cases of acute tonsillitis, neuzym appeared to be effective by 87.5%; definitely effective in 4 cases (50%) and fairly so in 3 cases (37.5%). When this agent was added to the antibiotics the duration of morbidity was definitely shortened as compared to the time when the latter was used alone.
A case of otitic herpes zoster complicated by facial paralysis was cured in a relatively short period by the use of this agent.
