屈折異常処理の現状と今後のあり方

Present Status and Future Trends for Dealing the Refraction Anomalia at Medical Facilities

緒言

　屈折異常は眼科特有の疾患であるが，その消長は社会環境の影響を受けて頻度が高く，対象も広がり，国民生活に密接につながつた眼疾患となつている。この治療の基本は屈折異常の改善で，その方法は眼鏡，又はコンタクトレンズの使用であるが，対象数が多いため，安易に眼鏡処方してしまう事がある。我々は病院を受診した患者の屈折異常とその処理について検討をしたが，その結果と反省を述べてみたい。

During 1969, 3,046 patients (45%) out of a total of 6,852 seen at the authors' Department were diagnosed as refraction anomalies. Pres-criptions for spectacles were issued to 1, 369 (20%) of them. Contact lenses were prescribed to 210 individuals (3%).

The incidence of refraction anomalies was as follows in the decreasing order : myosia includ-ing astigmatism, hypermetropia including astig-matism, presbyopia and aphakia. More prescrip-tions were issued for convex lenses than con-cave ones. Detailed comparison between them was not possible because of the complicated status as to the refractive degree and the as-tigmatism.
