Potassium Hetacillinの眼科領域における基礎的および臨床的研究

STUDIES OF A NEW ANTIBIOTICS, POTASSIUM HETACILLIN IN OPHTHALMOLOGY

はじめに

　Potassium hetacillin （以下Het-Pと略）は1965年Bristol Laboratoriesの研究所にて開発された広範囲スペクトラムを有するAminoben—zyl-Penicillin （以下AB-PCと略）類似の新しい合成ペニシリンであるHetacillinのK塩で，その構造式は第1図のごとくである。本剤はHetacillinに比し，きわめて水に溶けやすく，加水分解されてPotassium-AB-PCとAcetoneに分解されるといわれている。また血中濃度も高く，その最高血中濃度は同量投与した場合のAB-PCよりはるかに高くなるといわれている。

　今回われわれは，このHet-P経口剤を用い眼科的応用に関し検討したのでその成績を報告する。

1. Sensitivity of potassium hetacillin (a new synthetic penicillin) for pathogenic staphylococ-cus aureus isolated from patients are very similar to that of an aminobenzylpenicillin.

2. The blood and aqueous humor concentra-tion of potassium hetacillin are higher than that of ABPC after oral administration in rabbits.

3. 17 patients with external ocular infection and 2 patients with corneal infection were trea-ted with potassium hetacillin at oral dosis of 1 gr. per day. It was found that the results were effective in 18 of 19 cases.
