In order to detect some peculialities of genetic carriers of defective color vision, color vision defective students of both protan and deutan types and their mothers, who were considered as genetic carriers, were examined by the following methods.

1. Measurement of differential threshold of brightness of color light at the fovea.

Tübinger perimeter was used in this experi-ment. Differential thresholds of brightness were measured by two color lights obtained from in-terference filters whose dominant wavelengths were 656 nm and 525 nm. The test spot used was 69′ in diameter and the luminance of the background 100 asb.
