先天性色覚異常の診断基準について（1）

Diagnostic Criteria of Color Vision Deficiency

I．序

　色覚異常に関する研究の中で，ここ数年来異常者の社会的適性の問題に強い関心が持たれて来た。色覚異常の信頼するに足る治療法のない現在異常者の職業ないしは作業適性を研究すると共に不当な社会的制限を無くし，更に進んで社会環境を改善し異常者の不利を少くするのが我々臨床医の義務であろう。幸いに進学，就職等においても徐々に不当な制限が除かれてゆく傾向があるが，同時に精密検査，適性判定を希望し診断書を求める異常者が多くなつている。

　学校保健法については，昭和41年7月，日本眼科医会学校保健委員会から「眼科学校健康診断とその事後措置についての指導基準」^1）が発表されたことはまことに喜ばしいが，色覚検査の項目にはまだ不備な点があり再検討されねばならない問題が残つている。

A plan is proposed as a working principle for detection and diagnosis of color vision defectives as various stages of life.

Attempts at detecting color vision deficiency should be made already before or at the time of entrance to elementary school. This is a screening procedure and an exact diagnosis is not necessary at this stage.

Examination for color vision deficiency du-ring school age should be conducted at the 4th grade (average age : 9 years), at the first year of junior high school (12 years) and at the first of senior high school (15 years).
