This study is concerned with the shapes of the dye in the diabetic microaneurysm observed by fluorescence angiography. The relationshipbetween the capillaries and microaneurysms was studied by means of partially enlarged fundus photographs. Results were as follows : 1. Most of the microaneurysms are connected to the capillaries. Outpouching of capillary wall is saccular in shape. 2. In some cases microaneu-rysms are present at the blind end of the capi-llaries like a pinhead.
