非ステロイド消炎剤の眼科的実験—一種の組織浮腫法について

Experimental Studies on Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Agents in Ophthalmology

I．はじめに

　ステロイドホルモンの副作用およびその離脱の困難さが問題となるにつれて，近時，いわゆる非ステロイド消炎剤と称されるものが続々と開発され，まさに花盛りとでもいうべき盛況さでおびただしい数の臨床報告が，各臨床雑誌の誌面を賑わしている。

　現在までにわが眼科領域で報告された多くの臨床実験からは，必ずしもその効果は満足すべきものではなく，肝腎のBehcet氏病を代表とするUeitisに対する効果はほとんど期待できず，その適応は主として外傷性の炎症に対してであつて，特に手術後の反応性刺激症状の抑制にこそ本剤の最大の特徴があろうかと思われる。著者自身は，非ステロイド消炎剤のこれらの特性から，本剤を主として手術後の消炎の目的に限つて使用し，術後の虹彩刺激症状の抑制にかなりの臨床効果を認めてきた。

An experimental method has been developed by the present author to objectively assess the efficacy of antiinflammatory agents in ophthal-mology.

Traumatic iritis was produced in the rabbit eye through standardized surgical trauma in the form of iridectomy. The amount of edema of the iris tissue could be evaluated through the coeffici-ent (wett weight) / (total protein) of the iris excised after certain periods following surgery. According to this method, the postsurgical iris edema attained a maximum 12 hours after surgery and subsided to reach the presurgical level after 72 hours.
